Base pay range$71,453.00/yr - $85,744.00/yr
RealREPP, a full-service recruiting firm, is currently partnering with a growing, stable, and nationally recognized construction firm to assist them in hiring a Project Accountant in [Location]. This role is responsible for coordinating all phases of construction job costing, ensuring accuracy and integrity across project financials, and supporting the Project Manager throughout the full project life cycle. The Project Accountant prepares and analyzes billings, monitors project performance, manages vendor compliance, and resolves accounting issues—playing a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, risk mitigation, and operational excellence on a large‑scale construction project.
Responsibilities- Compile, prepare, and analyze monthly project billings in accordance with contract requirements.
- Perform financial analysis and reconcile project costs versus the approved project budget.
- Process project accounts payable and subcontractor payables accurately and timely.
- Manage vendor compliance including insurance, lien waivers, retention, and W-9 documentation.
- Produce and analyze job‑cost tracking reports to monitor project performance and profitability.
- Assist in preparing status reports and maintain accurate project information and budget data in COINs.
- Identify, research, and resolve routine and complex project‑related accounting issues promptly.
- Support overall project risk management by maintaining proper documentation and compliance controls.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and team to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive financial information.
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize effectively, handle multiple tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
- Perform additional project accounting duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- 3–5 years of project accounting experience preferred, ideally within construction.
- Strong accounting knowledge with solid analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professional discretion.
- Proficient computer skills, including intermediate‑to‑expert ability in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask and remain flexible in a fast‑paced environment.
