Assists with preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates, and detail estimates for smaller, less complex projects. Requires experience in a specific trade.

• Analyzes drawings and performs material take-offs using applicable software for detailed estimates.
• Develops project updates and bid package estimate documents’ comparison.
• Tracks and adjusts quantities as needed and resolves discrepancies.
• Researches and compiles historical cost data, keeps database current for future estimates.
• Makes sure file of working project documents is maintained to back up estimating figures.
• Responds to basic questions from internal managers.

• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or trade school or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good analytical skills.
• Basic ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
• Basic ability to read and understand specifications and drawings.
• General knowledge of construction costs and principles.
• Basic mathematical calculations and application of fractions, percentages, ratios, pr orations.
• Basic drafting skills.
• Competent Excel and Word skills.
• Basic knowledge of Quick Pen Auto Bid Mechanical and Sheet Metal Estimating software.
