• Provide a well‑stocked, well‑maintained department and deliver superior customer service.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products on a daily basis while maintaining all department and food safety/sanitation standards.
• Assist customers with orders, product selections, and general inquiries.
• Take advantage of suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales.
• Clean and sanitize display cases and operate/maintain equipment properly.
• Comply with H‑E‑B food safety, sanitation, and store operating procedures.
• Record production and shrink for production planning, and assist in bakery or deli technical tasks as needed.
• Maintain inventory management processes including MSI and PAW as required.

• Minimum age 18 (mandatory).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, write, plan, and organize effectively.
• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (e.g., PC, scales, label machine).
• Completed Company Orientation, and food safety and sanitation training upon hire.

• Constantly reach waist level and grasp items.
• Frequently stand, walk, and stoop.
• Occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, at knee, and at floor, and perform fine‑motor movements.
• May be exposed to wet, cold, hot conditions, and loud noise.
• Demonstrate the ability to lift 50‑55 lbs, and manage in excess of 70‑75 lbs as applicable.
