Description
Our goal at Pickleland is to build the best facility ever created. As our Assistant GM, you will be a critical contributor to help us build the foundation of Pickleland so that we can grow this brand into many locations around the globe.
You will be responsible for assisting the GM with building a great customer experience, be revenue oriented, and lead the team towards our desired outcomes. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for the sport of pickleball!
Responsibilities- Revenue-oriented
- Grow new and existing revenue streams (Open Play, Court Reservations, etc.)
- Develop new products and offerings based on demand from customers (Tournaments, Clinics, Leagues, etc.)
- Source corporate events, sponsor ships and partnerships
- Generate leads
- Create a strategy to generate leads through warm outreach, post free content, cold outreach, and paid ads.
- Email members and post on social media about upcoming events on a daily basis.
- Identify potential customers via networking, outreach, and marketing.
- Convert leads into memberships, bookings, or lessons.
- Post on social media daily
- Information updates and feature highlights
- Tips and tricks from coaching staff
- Promote upcoming events and sessions
- Highlight members in our community
- Run the front desk
- Maintain positive relationships with members, addressing concerns and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Pickleball activities
- Oversee court scheduling, tournament planning, and event coordination.
- Oversee staffing and logistics of tournaments and events.
- Operational / Facilities Management
- Oversee staff training, scheduling, and performance.
- Implement, monitor and ensure adherence to company safety protocols, cleanliness standards, and facility maintenance.
- Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Evaluate vendors as needed.

We are looking for someone who is ambitious and hungry to grow within the pickleball community. The right person for this role is someone who will wear multiple hats and commit to the overall growth of the community, someone who values autonomy, solving complex problems and owning outcomes.
Qualifications- Strong business acumen, with the ability to make decisions and implement overall business goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Business or a related field (preferred) OR minimum of 1 year of management experience in a recreational or sports facility setting.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong financial management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Customer service-oriented.
- Knowledge of pickleball rules, regulations, and industry trends, with a passion to continue to grow as a leader and a player.
- Connections with local businesses, pickleballers and potential partners
- Proficient in Google Suite, Slack, and facility management software.
- [Bonus] 1-2+ years of playing pickleball.
- Successful completion of a background check may be required
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Bending, Stooping, Lifting, Pulling occasionally.
- Capacity to work for extended periods in a noisy environment.
- $40,000/year base salary + discretionary bonuses based on performance and milestones
