About the Opportunity

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is looking for an accomplished sports leader, high-performance coach, or sports administrator to strengthen its competitive sports ecosystem.

We invite applications from professionals associated with Sports Authority of India, national sports federations, reputed sports academies, and high-performance training centers who have demonstrated excellence as athletes, coaches, or sports program leaders.

The role offers an opportunity to build championship-winning teams, mentor student-athletes, and contribute to national-level sporting success within a vibrant university environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sports Leadership & Strategy

- Lead the strategic planning and development of competitive sports programs across disciplines.
- Strengthen the University’s performance in National University Championships and major sporting platforms.
- Contribute to institutional goals aligned with prestigious recognitions such as the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy (MAKA Trophy) for overall sports excellence.

Athlete Development

- Identify and nurture high-potential student-athletes across multiple sports disciplines.
- Design and implement structured high-performance training programs.
- Facilitate athlete participation in national and international competitions.

Competition & Event Management

- Lead participation and preparation for Inter-University Tournaments and National Championships.
- Support athlete development pipelines connected with national initiatives like Khelo India.

Team & Infrastructure Management

- Mentor and manage coaches, trainers, physiotherapists, and sports support staff.
- Ensure effective utilization of sports facilities, equipment, and training infrastructure.
- Integrate sports science, analytics, and modern performance training methods.

Partnerships & Representation

- Build collaborations with sports federations, training academies, and sports governing bodies.
- Represent the university in National Sports Forums and Institutional Sports Networks.

Eligibility

✔ 15+ years of experience in sports coaching, sports administration, or athlete development.

✔ Experience with organizations such as Sports Authority of India, national sports federations, or reputed sports institutions preferred.

✔ Proven record of developing competitive athletes or managing high-performance sports programs.

✔ Experience in leading sports departments, academies, or elite training programs is highly desirable.

⭐ Preferred Profile

Former National / International Athlete or Elite Coach

Experience with university sports competitions and national sports development programs

Strong understanding of initiatives such as Khelo India and university sports ranking systems including the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy

Strong network within sports federations, academies, and talent development ecosystems
