What's your day like?

As a Broadband Network Specialist at the City of Pharr, you'll play an essential in ensuring the seamless operation of our private and public FTTH fiber optic, wired, and wireless networks. Your primary responsibility will be to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues, as well perform routine maintenance. This hands‑on position requires expertise in cutting, splicing, and terminating fiber optic cables while documenting processes accurately.

You'll locate problem areas, conduct repairs, and execute programming and diagnostics tasks. In addition, you'll provide technical support to end-users, guiding them on network systems and the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of network and fiber optic systems.

Your technical acumen will extend to the installation and configuration of video surveillance equipment and training users on optimal software and hardware setups, ensuring a robust and efficient networking experience for all city residents.
