Position:
Head Start Teacher

Location:

Philadelphia, Neshoba County, MS

Work Hours:

7 hours per day

Work Year: 9-10 months per year

• Associate’s Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education (minimum).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Degree in a related field with at least 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education specific to infants and toddlers.
• Ability to lift 40‑50 lbs as needed.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, stand, and sit with children for extended periods without complications.

• Minimum of two (2) years experience working in a preschool classroom.

• Under the direction of the School Administrator, instruct children in activities designed to promote social, physical and cognitive growth.
• Utilize a research‑based curriculum and assessment to evaluate child progress and plan appropriate activities.
• Develop individualized lesson plans, conduct home visits, hold parent‑teacher conferences, and prepare monthly progress notes.
• Perform the physical requirements described above.
