Head Start Teacher Assistant

Location:

Philadelphia, Neshoba County, MS

Work Hours:

7 hours/day

Work Year: 9-10 months/year

• Minimum requirement is an Associate's Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education
• Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs. as needed
• Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, stand on feet and sit on floor with children for extended periods of time without complications

• Must have at least one (1) year experience working in the classroom with preschool children at a licensed childcare facility

• Under the direction of the Teacher, the Assistant will assist with organizing the classroom and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment
• Assist in making ongoing observations, assessments, referrals and sharing of information with teacher on the progress of each child
• Assist in planning and implementing classroom activities based on the individual needs of the child
• Conduct other duties as assigned for the successful implementation of the program
