At the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University , we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at Temple University Hospital . Here, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to a diverse inpatient population while contributing to education, research, and community service.
TheOpportunity
As an Inpatient Psychiatrist, you will:
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients in our inpatient psychiatric unit.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to address the comprehensive needs of our patients.
- Teach and mentor psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees, fostering the next generation of mental health professionals.
- Engage in research initiatives aimed at reducing health disparities and advancing mental health care.
- Participate in shared weekend/evening call responsibilities (approximately three weekends per year).
- Clinical Care: Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Collaborative Culture: Work in a collegial environment with nursing staff, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Teaching and Mentoring: Supervise and educate trainees in clinical settings.
- Research and Scholarship: Access mentorship and opportunities to participate in institutional committees.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Help develop clinical protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of residency in Psychiatry from an ACGME-accredited program.
- Board eligibility or certification in Psychiatry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license & DEA from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to employment.
