Job Description Summary

The Netter Center's UACS Site Coordinator will serve as the connector between the school site and the University. Specifically, the UACS Site Coordinator will supervise school day, out-of-school time (OST)/after school and summer enrichment programs, as well as academic program partnerships and activities. The UACS OST/after school programs offer academic, cultural and recreational programming to students Monday through Friday from the last bell (2:54pm) until 6:00pm through the academic year and from 8am - 5pm for 6 weeks each summer.

The academic schedule is typically 9:30AM - 6:30PM.

Major components of the position include planning, organizing and supervising the program's PT staff, university student workers and volunteers and supporting their delivery of effective instruction and programming. This position will also implement direct service related to program implementation. This position will implement all required program reporting and compliance, including that of funders and the Netter Center. Compliance activities include proper and complete student participant enrollment and student attendance documentation, among other tasks.

This position works as part of a team with other Netter Center staff and school partners and will work closely with ABCS courses and facilitate connections to faculty partners. This position works closely with the school building leadership and the Director of Teaching and Learning to ensure programming addresses the academic needs of students and also supervises undergraduate fellows, work-study and volunteer Penn students.

The position is supervised by the UACS High School Program Manager.

The Netter Center works with and serves as a model for other higher education institutions across the United States and around the world. The Netter Center's university-assisted community schools (UACS) is a strategy to educate, engage, empower, and serve all members of the community in which the school is located and engage students (K-16+) in real world, community problem solving.

Job Responsibilities:

In partnership with Netter staff, University partners, school administration, after school instructors, UACS teacher-partners and Penn students, select, design, coordinate and implement programs that improve student academic achievement using youth-centered and problem-solving learning approaches. Consult with the program's director, principals, and teachers to ensure the program goals are being met.
