Position Summary

The School of Education invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Education to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, focusing on Early Childhood Education (Primary/Elementary). The start date is August 2026.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching higher education. It is also expected that the successful candidate will maintain a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Developing and teaching graduate and undergraduate level courses in a variety of formats, including face-to-face and online (asynchronous and synchronous)

* Maintaining academic excellence in the classroom

* Serve as dissertation chair and on dissertation committees

* Providing meaningful service to the School, the University, and the community

* Participate in school- and university-wide committees and initiatives

* Planning and carrying out an active research agenda

* Serving as advisor to undergraduate and graduate students

Education & Experience Requirements

Required Qualifications:

* Certification as a PK-4 or K-6 teacher, preferably in PA, or the willingness to obtain certification

* Earned doctorate in an Education area (or ABD with an expected completion date before August 1, 2026)

* Experience teaching in K-12 schools

Preferred Qualifications

* Proficiency with instructional technology

* History of participating in LEA/IHE partnerships
