Purpose:

Worley is seeking an Mechanical Engineer to join our Nuclear team in Markham, Ontario.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, modification, and delivery of mechanical systems for complex nuclear projects. Working under the direction of a Design Team Lead, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and customers while upholding Worley’s standards for safety, quality, and technical excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical design and engineering activities for nuclear projects in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and project procedures.
  • Prepare, review, and contribute to engineering deliverables, including design packages, technical specifications, calculations, assessments, reports, drawings, and supporting documentation.
  • Support modifications and upgrades to existing nuclear facilities, including equipment selection, system integration, design verification, and resolution of technical issues.
  • Complete engineering calculations and analyses to validate designs, confirm performance requirements, and support technically sound decisions.
  • Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to equipment and systems such as pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, HVAC, fire protection, and piping systems.
  • Interpret and apply applicable requirements, including CSA N299, CSA N285, and ASME Section III, within mechanical engineering activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, risk assessments, and interdisciplinary technical discussions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, procurement, quality, construction, and other disciplines to support safe and coordinated project delivery.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, and field implementation.
  • Identify technical risks, constraints, and opportunities, and work with the project team to develop practical and compliant solutions.
  • Communicate technical information clearly through written documentation, presentations, design discussions, and interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables by managing priorities, following through on commitments, and escalating issues when appropriate.
