Position: VP, US Federal & State Income Tax Compliance
Position Overview:

We are seeking to hire a highly skilled and experienced tax professional with leadership experience in US Federal and State income tax reporting and compliance for a large, international, and complex organization. The professional we seek would lead this function and would be a key member of Chubb’s global tax team. Someone in this position will be analyzing and interpreting complex tax laws and regulations and determining the appropriate tax return reporting pertaining to Chubb’s insurance and non-insurance businesses.

Importantly, this position provides advice and supports others by providing guidance to our internal business partners. The position requires a leader who is a team player that is technical, organized, and responsive and can manage complex reporting related projects while producing accurate and timely results. Successful candidates would also have a track record  of embracing enabling technology and leveraging data strategies to improve related processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the tax reporting function responsible for filing timely and accurate US Federal and state income tax returns for insurance and non-insurance companies. Provide technical tax advice and guidance on corporate tax reporting matters.

Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Treasury, and Accounting teams to ensure compliance with US federal and state tax laws and regulations.

Collaborate with external advisors and consultants as needed to address complex tax reporting issues.

Lead related processes ensuring that they are enabled by technology and leverage data strategies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cycle time.

Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and policy developments that may impact Chubb’s US tax reporting. Develop and coach team members and build tax capability across the broader finance organization.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and/or a Juris Doctor (JD), master’s degree or LLM in taxation, desirable  Minimum of 15 years of experience in corporate tax reporting and compliance. Strong understanding of federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations

Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex, multinational environment

Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to senior leaders and non-tax stakeholders

Experience driving process improvement, automation, or tax technology initiatives

Desired

Skills:

Proven leadership in corporate tax reporting and compliance in both US Federal and State income tax for a large multinational enterprise

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-tax experts

Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to navigate complex tax issues

Insurance tax experience is preferred but not a requirement, financial services, public accounting, and prior private industry experience desirable.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
