Summary: NCS's Wellness &Resiliency program/Outpatient Services Program provides outpatient services that help children and adolescents with depression, anxiety, stress, anger, self-esteem, ADHD, ADHD, bereavement or other emotional, social and behavioral difficulties. Following a comprehensive assessment and consultation, WRP/Outpatient Clinicians identify the child's needs and make recommendations for treatment. Treatment may consist of one or more of the following: individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and/or medication management.

Generally, sessions are about one hour weekly, though depending on the child's needs, the pace may vary. Evidence-based treatments such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Milieu Therapy are available. Internship must be able to provide individual therapy and group therapy under the direction of a supervisor.

Specific Duties

Communication
  • Maintain therapy appointments with children and their families on site and in their home. This also includes following up on cancellations and no-shows.
  • Maintain correspondence with families who do not show for sessions or are unable to be reached via telephone through letters.
  • Obtain signatures from children and their caregivers on all paperwork requiring them on specified dates as the paperwork is prepared.
