Stevedore Superintendent

The Packer Avenue Marine Terminal is operated by Greenwich Terminals LLC and is one of the most productive terminals in the United States.

The facility employs 12 highly productive and safe in-house labor crews and offers 19 start times which creates greater flexibility for vessel departure and arrival times. This adds up to cargo being moved faster, discharged faster, and saves distributors time and money.

Job Description & Duties:

A growing Philadelphia area stevedore and terminal operating company is seeking highly motivated individuals to work as Superintendents. Successful candidates must be able to work in a fast paced, drug free environment. Candidates will have to direct, supervise, and assign work to ILA Longshoremen. Candidates will also monitor loading and unloading sequences to meet all safety and productivity standards, monitor employee attendance, and resolve personnel issues.

Individuals should possess the following qualities:

• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems, look ahead to avoid problems, and follow through to completion.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and have the ability to supervise and direct groups of individuals.
• Must be able to assume a leadership role and participate in safety program.
• Ability to coordinate with internal departments, customers and their agents, and vendors.
• Good correspondence and computer skills a must (Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes) with the ability to learn in house network.
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts as required.
