The Wistar Institute is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to work in the laboratory of Dr. Jesper Pallesen in the Vaccine & Immunotherapy Center at The Wistar Institute. The Pallesen lab is interested in employing cryo-EM structural biology and computational protein design to explore the human immune response to infectious diseases and to develop vaccines and cancer immunotherapeutics.

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include lab management such as purchasing and stocking laboratory supplies. Responsibilities also include cell culture work, (membrane) protein expression and purification and assisting other lab personnel in various projects.

A bachelor's or master's degree in a science-related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is required. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential. Experience in the following areas is preferred: general molecular biology techniques, mammalian cell culture, (membrane) protein purification, chromatography or structural biology. Candidates will receive hands-on training as needed.
