On-Call Outreach Specialist
We are currently seeking an On-Call Outreach Specialist:
Purpose:
- Provide services to homeless individuals encountered in the Cafe during hours mandated by the City of Philadelphia's Coordinated Cafe Initiative.
- Engage homeless persons into accepting appropriate services, which may include the facilitation of voluntary/involuntary hospitalizations and/or referrals to other supports.
- Implement the overall mission, values and beliefs of Horizon House in all aspects of the job.
Supervision Received:
Receives direct supervision from the Supervisor, Hope Café.
Supervision Exercised:
N/A
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED and a minimum of (3) years of relevant experience in substance abuse counseling; or any combination of experience, education or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
- Experience in working with Drug and Alcohol affected clients preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.
- Mental Health knowledge desired
