Before and After School Program Childcare Group Teacher
Healthy Kids Programs is currently hiring Childcare Group Teachers for our Before and Aftercare Program for the school year. We’re looking for someone who loves working with children and is passionate about creating an environment where kids can thrive.
JOB STATUS: Part‑Time, Non‑Exempt
LOCATION: Lopatcong Elementary School in Phillipsburg, NJ
PAY RATE: $15.49 – $17.00 per hour
HOURS: 7:00 – 8:00 am and 2:30 – 5:30 pm
Job Consists Of- Ensure that staff and program adhere to NJ guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and host school rules.
- Direct engaging hands‑on activities based on the Healthy Kids Way Curriculum covering fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. Support homework completion.
- Create a safe, healthy, and fun environment where kids can thrive and serve as a role model.
- Assist the Site Director with management tasks, including accurate attendance/registration records, staffing levels, and act as designated person in charge when the Site Director is absent.
- Maintain open communication with parents and families through the Playground App.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with the Site Director, providing updates on daily occurrences, addressing issues in a timely manner, and collaborating as a team.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in Child Development or Child Development Certificate.
- Six college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and nine college credits in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any other field related to child growth or development.
- Medically fit, free of communicable diseases including TB.
- Warm, friendly, upbeat with exceptional people skills for kids, parents, and team. Professional, reliable, and prompt.
- Ready to bend, stretch, lift, carry up to 50 lbs., and perform tasks to keep pace with energetic kids.
