Your Day at Lowe's

Whether you're answering customer questions, assisting with payments, or helping with exchanges, your job as a cashier is to ensure every customer leaves our store satisfied. While most of your time will be spent at the register, you may also be expected to engage in other activities such as helping other departments, stocking shelves, or moving carts. If you enjoy helping customers and solving problems in a fast‑paced environment, this role is a great fit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience
  • Proactively assist customers in the self‑checkout area
  • Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently
  • Manage a cash register, payments, and exchanges
  • Answer customer questions
  • Help maintain a clean, safe workstation
  • Complete other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
  • Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Experience using a computer, including entering, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Minimally lift 10lb unassisted or over 15lb with or without accommodation
  • Obtain sales‑related licensure or registration if required by law in your state
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retail and/or customer service experience
  • Bilingual skills
Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel; however, you may need to attend meetings, training, or support neighboring stores occasionally.

Working Conditions

Environmental conditions vary by location. You may work in indoor or outdoor weather, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noise and moving or shaking equipment. Employees must follow lifting guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds and using team lifts as needed; powered equipment should be used only with proper training.
