We are seeking qualified candidates to join our team.
PositionMaintenance Tech II — full-time position at Sycamore Landing located in Phillipsburg, NJ. Requires 2+ years of industry experience.
Responsibilities- Responsible for executing maintenance requests by diagnosing problems and making repairs to maintain the physical condition of the community according to operating and safety standards; ensure service requests and repairs are completed in a timely manner.
- Report to:
Sr. Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Supervisor. - Supervise:
No Direct Reports. - Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating and equipment/supply standards and in a timely manner.
- Assist with organizing and prioritizing service requests and general maintenance tasks.
- Perform turnkey work per maintenance manager.
- Maintain company customer service standards; respond to resident requests and work with residents to minimize/resolve problems and ensure issues are resolved.
- Apply all applicable EP policies and procedures and promote safe work practices among on-site staff.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, specifically Fair Housing regulations.
- All other tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- May supervise the work of other associates and outside contractors.
- Maintain professional appearance including adherence to dress code as required.
- Education:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred. - Experience:
2+ years in the industry.
- Ability to read and write English; clear and concise written and verbal communication; ability to read maintenance tickets and labels on cleaning and chemical supplies.
- Basic arithmetic for estimating, averages, percentages, and totals.
- Ability to operate general office equipment as needed.
- Proficiency with general maintenance tools and equipment (hand tools, pressure washers, ladders, etc.).
- Ability to handle chemicals and cleaning supplies.
- Ability to transport up to 60 pounds; access restricted spaces or work at heights (>8-9 feet).
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles (car, truck, van, golf cart).
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and climb (stairs, ladders, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
- Lift certification (must be able to pass within 6 months of hire).
- Ability to pass training certification in HVAC, electrical, or entry-level trades for residential sites.
- Class A may be pursued for additional certification within 24 months.
- Participate in the Emergency On-Call rotation for the property.
- Live within 45 minutes’ drive of the community.
- Schedule will be based on business needs and is subject to change.
- May be asked to perform the work of a Maintenance Technician I.
