Due to expansion and the school needing to open a new calss, we are looking for a UK trained and experienced Primary Year 1 or 2 Teacher to join a new British international school which opened its Primary section in Phnom Penh in August 2024. Given this is only their second year of operating in the new primary school, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pioneering role in the establishment of a new school culture, traditions and practices.

The primary school offers a British-style education based on the National Curriculum of England. The school will grow to cater for pupils up to Year 6 and beyond with a Secondary section planned to open in 2026. The Early Years section opened in 2022 and is set on a different site.

Candidates should have the following education, skills and experience:

● BEd or BA Degree, plus full UK QTS (or equivalent)

● Relevant teaching experience in the UK or internationally  

● Excellent working knowledge of the primary curriculum  

● Outstanding teaching practice and full understanding of learning through play

● Experience with using a range of assessment tools to track learning outcomes  

● Relish the prospect of collegial working in our school  

● Enthusiasm and willingness to work across the Key Stage 1 age range  

● Ability to prioritise workloads and to work using own initiative  

● Enthusiasm about living and working in the developing country of Cambodia  

In addition, all applicants must have National Curriculum 2014 subject knowledge, experience in thematic style teaching, encouraging inquiry and collaborative working skills, clear understanding and effective use of formal formative and summative assessment methods and progress data, excellent written and verbal communication skills and positivity, flexibility and commitment associated with working in a young, growing school.
