Duran Business Group is seeking a Bilingual Senior Tax Preparer to join our team!
We are a growing firm specializing in accounting, payroll, and tax services for small business owners. We are looking for a bilingual (English/Spanish) Senior Tax Preparer who is client-focused and skilled in preparing complex tax returns for both individuals and businesses. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA or EA with strong experience in corporate and small business taxation. This position plays a central role in both operations and client relations and is designed to transition into a leadership role as part of our long‑term succession plan.
Over time, the selected candidate will work closely with the CEO to adopt firm‑specific strategies, with the opportunity to take on increased responsibility in tax leadership and planning.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals (Form 1040), partnerships (Form 1065), S corporations (Form 1120‑S), and C corporations (Form 1120).
- Meet directly with clients, primarily small business owners, to gather tax‑related information, explain positions, and develop long‑term relationships.
- Analyze financial records to ensure accurate tax reporting and full compliance with relevant tax codes.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations, particularly those impacting small businesses.
- Collaborate closely with internal accounting and payroll teams to provide integrated client services.
- Lead in‑house training sessions on advanced tax strategies and firm procedures in coordination with the CEO.
- Take ownership of workload and provide strong hands‑on support to the team, especially during peak tax season.
- Active CPA or EA license (required)
- Minimum 5 years of tax preparation experience, including business and corporate returns
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)
- Proficiency with Quick Books and professional tax software (Drake preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong client‑facing abilities
- High attention to detail and solid analytical/problem‑solving skills
- Eagerness to grow into a leadership position within the firm
- Strong understanding of tax strategy and ability to identify tax‑saving opportunities
- Prior experience serving small business clients or working in a tax/accounting firm
- Salary Range: $85,000–$100,000 annually, depending on experience and certification
- Bonus Potential: Performance‑based bonus available
