Staff Accountant- Asset

Vaco Phoenix is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with Fixed Asset experience for a top client in Phoenix, AZ. This role will implement and enforce fixed asset accounting policies, prepare lifecycle-related journal entries, and complete monthly account reconciliations. This is a contract to hire position, that offers a hybrid work schedule and pays between $35-$38 per hour depending on experience.

• Record and manage asset lifecycle transactions, including CIP entry, coding, capitalization, and disposals.
• Collaborate with organizational leaders to track fixed asset projects and identify accounting impacts.
• Ensure accurate asset details (company code, location, description, etc.) with a strong focus on automation.
• Apply solid knowledge of fixed asset accounting principles and practices.
• Leverage advanced Excel skills to analyze, interpret, and update complex formulas.
• Work independently and collaboratively, maintaining composure under pressure and meeting deadlines, particularly during close and reporting cycles.

• Effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to both identify and remove barriers to progress or change.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
