A large, stable public company headquartered in Phoenix is looking for a high‑impact Senior Accountant who wants meaningful work and real work/life balance. If you're energized by complex corporate accounting but appreciate a flexible hybrid schedule, this role hits the mark.
What You Do- Lead key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Manage G&A expense accounting, including variance analysis and trend insights
- Oversee accounting for equipment purchases, disposals, and depreciation
- Support SEC and internal financial reporting
- Analyze financial results and help leadership understand the "why" behind the numbers
- Strengthen internal controls and support SOX compliance
- Partner with FP&A, operations, procurement, and audit teams
- Drive process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy
- Contribute to special projects such as system enhancements, policy updates, and cross‑functional initiatives
- Assist with audit requests and provide clear, organized support documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a large company environment
- Public accounting experience or CPA is a strong plus
- Strong GAAP knowledge and comfort with complex accounting environments
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with major ERP systems
