Were partnering with a growing Phoenix-based family office and wealth management firm looking for experienced Tax Managers who want to take their careers beyond traditional public accounting.
This isnt simply another tax compliance role.
Youll work directly with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families
, helping them navigate complex tax situations while collaborating with wealth advisors, investment professionals, estate planning specialists, accountants, attorneys, and other professionals.
The goal? Become more than the person reviewing the return.
Become one of the advisors helping the family make the decisions behind it.
What Youll Be DoingAs a Tax Manager, youll combine technical tax expertise, client advisory, and people leadership
.
Youll manage and review complex tax engagements involving individuals, partnerships, S-Corporations, trusts, and sophisticated family structures while providing year-round tax planning and guidance.
Youll also:
- Lead and review complex individual, partnership, S-Corporation, and trust tax engagements
- Work directly with HNW and UHNW families
- Develop proactive tax planning strategies, projections, and financial models
- Research complex federal and state tax matters
- Identify planning opportunities throughout the yearnot just around filing deadlines
- Communicate complex tax strategies directly to clients
- Coordinate with attorneys, CPAs, wealth advisors, investment professionals, and other outside advisors
- Review work prepared by Tax Associates and Tax Advisors
- Mentor, coach, and develop junior tax professionals
- Manage multiple sophisticated client relationships and deadlines
- Collaborate across tax, investments, estate planning, accounting, and wealth management
Were looking for someone who has already built a strong tax foundation and is ready to operate as both a technical leader and trusted client advisor
.
You should bring:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Masters degree in Taxation
- Active CPA designation
- 5+ years of public accounting/tax experience
- Strong complex individual tax experience
- Experience with partnerships, S-Corporations, and trusts
- Experience reviewing returns and overseeing preparers
- Previous experience mentoring and developing junior tax professionals
- Experience working with HNW clients and complex tax situations
- Strong tax planning, projections, research, and advisory experience
- Excellent client-facing communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex engagements and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
Experience with
UHNW families, family offices, private wealth, trusts and estates, closely held businesses, multi-entity family structures, or sophisticated year-round tax planning will stand out.
Experience with
CCH Engagement/CCH tax software is also preferred.
Were especially interested in Tax Managers who have worked directly with clients and enjoy coordinating with estate attorneys, investment professionals, wealth advisors, and other specialists to solve complex problems.
