Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager reports to the controller, runs day-to-day accounting and owns the monthly close. You keep the books accurate, timely, and audit-ready.

This is a hands-on role. You will review work, fix problems, and build better processes. Spectrum is growing. We recently launched Pride Care Rx, our for-profit pharmacy, and you will manage the accounting for both entities. That growth means real chances to shape how Finance works. You will partner with clinical, pharmacy, revenue cycle, HR, and operations leaders, so clear communication matters as much as technical skill.

This is an in-office position in our Phoenix clinic. We're moving to a new 22,000 sq ft facility in midtown Phoenix in Q2 2027.

• Own the monthly close calendar and make sure it finishes on time.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals. Confirm balance sheet accounts are supported.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and budget-vs-actual reporting for leadership
• Support the annual budget, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Explain variances in plain language to non-finance partners

• Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting.
• Maintain the chart of accounts across entities. Keep intercompany activity clean.
• Manage fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and capitalization policy.
• Apply lease accounting under ASC 842.

• Account for 340B program activity as the covered entity, including contract pharmacy reconciliations.
• Work with revenue cycle on patient revenue, contractual adjustments, and cash application.
• Track grant and restricted funds. Support grant reporting and compliance.

• Own the accounting for Pride Care Rx, Spectrum's pharmacy and a separate for-profit legal entity. This includes close, GL, AP, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Manage pharmacy inventory accounting, including costing, physical counts, and cost of goods sold.
• Reconcile wholesaler purchases, third-party payer reimbursements, and 340B administrator activity.
• Account for intercompany activity between Spectrum and Pride Care Rx. Keep the nonprofit and for-profit books clean and separate.
• Support for-profit tax filings with outside advisors.
• Report pharmacy results and key metrics to leadership.

• Maintain internal controls and document key processes.
• Prepare schedules and support for the annual audit and Form 990.
• Help with sales, payroll, and other tax filings as needed.

• Improve processes and automate where it makes sense, including using AI tools for reconciliations, analysis, and reporting.
• Act as backup to the Controller when needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience with Quick Books Online, Sage Intacct or a comparable ERP.
• Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations).
