The CE Childcare Associate I provides support to instructional programs within the classroom, focusing on the personal and emotional growth of students, behavior monitoring, and communication with teachers, parents, and administrators.

• Administers first aid to ill, injured, or medically fragile children.
• Assists students with personal care needs such as diapering, toileting, and feeding.
• Supports age-appropriate activities like games, art, music, and science under supervision.
• Communicates effectively with internal staff.
• Completes at least 18 hours of approved training annually.
• Distributes instructional and play materials.
• Builds positive relationships with students to promote confidence and self-esteem.
• Implements instructional programs and lesson plans under supervision.
• Maintains classroom equipment and records to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Monitors student behavior and ensures a positive environment.
• Organizes indoor and outdoor activities suitable for children.
• Prepares snacks and meals following guidelines.
• Provides feedback on student progress to supervisors, teachers, and parents.
• Transfers children safely to and from parents or guardians.

Performs other duties as assigned to support the work unit.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Ability to prepare and maintain records, understand child development stages, motivate and control children, and follow laws and regulations related to counseling students. Ability to schedule activities, gather data, use equipment, work with diverse individuals, solve problems, and communicate effectively.

Physical Demands: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. Exposure to risk of injury or illness in a clean environment.

Experience: Job-related experience preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
