Child Care Worker Part-Time

JOB GOAL
Responsible for providing quality child care and instruction in a day care setting and adhering to ADHS codes and statutes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
- Level 1 Fingerprint card, TB test
- Preferred
- First Aid/CPR, and Food Handlers Card (can get once hired) - Preferred-6 months experience in a licensed child care facility
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides care and instruction to promote academic and social/emotional growth
- Monitors children’s behavior and safety inside and outside of the classroom
- Assists with clean-up and other related tasks following daily activates
- Prepares classroom for activities, including creating lessons and preparing materials
- Creates bulletin boards, maintains materials and supplies, contacts parents and may make copies
- May attend in-service training sessions
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
- Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing
- Incumbents may be subjected to blood and other body fluids
- Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures.
- Early Childhood Development
- Monitoring and assisting children with activities
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
