Job Description

PCI is seeking a Project Manager for its Phoenix 562 branch operations based in Phoenix, AZ
.

This individual will be responsible for:

  • Initiate and maintain customer contact which will enable securements and profitable execution of work.
  • Direct and manage the construction activities of projects in area of responsibility to maximize margin contribution results.
  • Interpret and analyze contract documents regarding terms, specifications, clarifications and requirements for each project.
  • Manage job site personnel to maintain effective relations with owner, engineers, utilities, subcontractors, contractors, unions, etc.
  • Implement the corporate program regarding loss control and claims management for workers compensation.
  • Analyze and monitor actual vs. estimated costs to develop action plans where unfavorable variances are detected and ensure an effective job control system is utilized on each project.
  • Effectively estimate the majority of work applicable to the respective region, and solicit assistance from the estimating department when necessary to assure maximum bidding activity without sacrificing quality.
  • Negotiate contract issues and variances and further negotiate change orders, scope changes, claims and other project issues as required.
  • Ability to travel 20‑30% of the time.
Basic Requirements
  • A minimum of 5‑7 years of Construction Management work experience.
  • Experience in Commercial, Industrial, or Mechanical construction is preferred.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
  • Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
  • Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as On‑Screen Takeoff and Quickbid.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and keep each on schedule ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of employees within the company.
  • Must be flexible and enjoy working with a diverse group in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Business Administration, or any related field.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience with union representatives preferred.
  • OSHA Certification.
  • Local to Phoenix area preferred.
