The Manager oversees projects from design through completion—ensuring they meet client standards, stay on schedule, and remain within budget. Managing multiple projects and contractors at once is a core part of the job. The right candidate is organized, a strong communicator, and can juggle multiple tasks and schedules at the same time. Being a good problem solver and keeping work on track is key to success in this role.
The Manager Telecom is responsible for organizing field operations by assigning each Superintendent or Supervisor to manage 3–5 crews. In some cases, more than five crews may be approved if the work is repetitive and the team performs well in key areas like safety, quality, production, financials, and employee development. Supervisors may report to a Superintendent/Supervisor when managing multiple crews on similar job types.
This role requires hands‑on experience with both outside and inside plant construction, including aerial, underground, small cell nodes, and customer building (venue) work. A strong understanding of permitting, pole/conduit licensing, and utility coordination is essential.

- Partner closely with Fiber Engineers, Field Operations, and Project Management teams to ensure the successful planning and execution of projects.
- Oversee all external vendors and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and according to customer standards.
- Conduct constructability reviews and develop construction bid packages; competitively bid work to qualified subcontractors.
- Manage the development and submittal of permitting and construction plans, coordinating with local and state agencies on licensing and approvals.
- Order, track, and manage third‑party materials and resources required for construction.
- Lead site construction efforts, maintaining schedules and quality standards while acting as a safety and quality representative on site.
- Ensure compliance with all safety programs, leading by example and holding teams accountable for maintaining safe work practices.
- Maintain accurate project records and updates in project tracking systems, providing regular status reports to leadership and clients.
- Negotiate vendor costs, monitor budget performance, and elevate any issues that may impact timelines or financials.
- Proactively resolve on‑site issues and recommend solutions to keep projects on track.
- Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and excellence across the project team.
- Develop strong relationships with customers, team members, and stakeholders to support project success and customer satisfaction.
- Report directly to the Director with frequent updates on progress, risks, and milestones.
- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
- Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
- May be required to work after hours; on weekends or be on‑call as work is needed.
- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Must possess excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or 3‑5 years of OSP Engineering Management experience.
- 3–5 years of underground utility or telecom construction experience, including managing teams in fast‑paced, production‑driven environments.
- Strong working knowledge of outside plant (OSP) fiber engineering standards, aerial and underground construction methods, and relevant industry regulations.
