Estimator - Underground Wet Utility

Job Overview

Base pay: $90,000.00 - $ per year.

Location:

Greater Phoenix Area, Arizona.

We are an established underground utility contractor in the Greater Phoenix area. We are seeking an underground estimator to join our team full-time.

• Minimum of 5 years of construction experience in underground utilities—water, sewer, and storm on private or public projects.
• Thorough knowledge of the estimating process.
• Knowledge of MAG Standard Specifications and Standard Details, as well as local supplements to MAG Specifications.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work under stressful situations.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision.
• Experience using various computer systems, with preferences in HCSS Heavy Bid, Planswift, Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.

• The estimator works closely with the chief estimator and is primarily responsible for performing quantity estimates related to underground utility—water, sewer, and storm.
• Completes take‑off per plans and specifications.
• Creates accurate take‑offs from drawings using Planswift.
• Requests, compares, and summarizes quotes from vendors.
• Estimates production and crew sizes using HCSS Heavy Bid.
