Director of Safety

For more than 50 years, AAA Landscape has provided full-service landscape management and design to commercial clients throughout Arizona with over 700 employees.

AAA Landscape is looking for a safety leader—not simply a compliance administrator
.

The right person understands how landscape construction and maintenance operations work and can establish safety standards without losing credibility with the field.

This individual should be equally comfortable:

• Walking an active construction site with a Foreman.
• Meeting with Account Managers and Project Managers to address safety concerns.
• Coaching a Crew Leader on hazard recognition.
• Investigating an employee injury or vehicle accident.
• Reviewing safety metrics with executive leadership.
• Developing company-wide safety initiatives.
• Holding leaders accountable for safety performance.

• 10+ years of progressive safety experience
  , preferably within landscape construction, landscape maintenance, commercial construction, or a closely related industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading safety programs across multiple active jobsites and field operations.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and safety regulations
  .
• Demonstrated experience conducting:
• Jobsite inspections
• Safety audits
• Incident investigations
• Root-cause analysis
• Corrective action planning
• Experience developing and implementing company-wide safety programs, policies, procedures, and training.
• Experience working directly with executive leadership and operational leaders.
• Strong understanding of landscape construction and maintenance means, methods, equipment, and field hazards
  .
• Ability to translate safety data into practical actions that improve field performance.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence employees and leaders at all levels of an organization.
• Ability and willingness to spend significant time in the field and travel between AAA Landscape locations and active project sites.

• CSP – Certified Safety Professional
• CHST – Construction Health and Safety Technician
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction
• OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction
• First Aid / CPR / AED
• Other construction safety, occupational health, or risk-management certifications are a plus.

The Director of Safety must be able to lead through influence, relationships, accountability, and credibility
, while maintaining the authority necessary to address serious safety concerns.
