We are supporting a fast-growing retail business in the Pet space. They are a premier specialty retailer in the pet industry, employing approximately 50,000 professionals across a substantial network of locations. Our client significantly contributes to the community through initiatives that support animal welfare.

The Principal UX Designer position with our client is a senior-level opportunity dedicated to high-level problem-solving and collaboration with cross-functional teams, particularly in engineering and product development, to create exceptional user experiences. A strong emphasis is placed on leadership qualities and mobile design expertise in line with recognized industry standards such as iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Google Material Design principles.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with IT teams that include engineering and technology to deliver optimal project execution.
  • Lead strategic UX initiatives at a high level, driving quality and coherence in user experience.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with Product Management and Engineering teams.
  • Effectively navigate constraints while ensuring high-quality user experiences are maintained.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to create comprehensive solutions that exceed mere visual design.
Requirements
  • At least 2-5 years of relevant experience in user experience design, ideally within the retail sector.
  • Proficiency in design tools including Figma, Fig Jam, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills focused on user-centered design practices.
  • Effective communication skills that foster collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in mobile application development and a grasp of relevant design guidelines
