Position Summary
The staff physician shall provide patient care services and support Phoenix Children’s mission to provide hope, healing, and the best health care for children and their families.
Position Duties- Patient Care Services:
- Provide direct patient care on inpatient and outpatient bases.
- Provide subspecialty consultations and follow‑up.
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.
- Provide services for urgent/emergent care as necessary.
- Strive to achieve the best patient‑ and family‑centered care.
- Support hospital’s patient satisfaction goals and division targets.
- Support and adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards.
- Practice contemporary evidence‑based medicine.
- Divisional Responsibilities:
- Establish and demonstrate effort to attain annual physician goals.
- Support medical education programs and activities, including supervision of trainees.
- Conduct teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences.
- Participate in the postgraduate continuing education of the division.
- Support research endeavors and programmatic growth of the division.
- Support satellite efforts when appropriate.
- Professionalism:
- Treat colleagues, employees, and customers with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
- Promote a safe, cooperative, professional health‑care environment.
- Support Phoenix Children’s mission, vision, and values.
- Other
Activities:- Support the Division Chief as liaison to the professional community and general public.
- Conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside the facility as needed.
- Represent Phoenix Children’s in the medical and business communities.
- Communicate by telephone, computer or other devices.
- Perform after‑hours or night call responsibilities as required.
- Work regular scheduled hours.

- Medical degree (MD or DO) – required.
- Ability to move freely between facilities and examine patients – required.
- Ability to communicate by telephone, computer, or other devices – required.
- Ability to perform after‑hours or night call duties as needed – required.
- Ability to work regular scheduled hours – required.
- Ability to work well under pressure – required.
- Current Arizona license to practice medicine or ability to obtain before start date – required.
- Board certified/Board eligible in the appropriate specialty – required.
