The Division of Neonatology at Phoenix Children’s seeks full-time BC/BE Neonatologist(s). The Neonatologist will provide care at the main campus of Phoenix Children’s and its affiliate locations at Phoenix Children’s East Campus, Dignity Health and Honor Health.
Phoenix Children s is the academic medical center for the affiliated University of Arizona-College of Medicine-Phoenix. The program includes approximately 20,000 deliveries from all the sites with an active maternal-fetal medicine/fetal care network program.
- The program includes a Level IV nursery at Phoenix Children s, 3 Level III nurseries at Phoenix Children’s East, Honor Healthcare Shea Campus and Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center. There are 3 Level II Nurseries within the Honor Health and Dignity Health Network that are also covered.
- Full subspecialty support is present at the sites and full support is available to all neonates including protective hypothermia program, ECMO, and Neonatal Cardiac program.
- Medical Students are educated through the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, and Creighton University School of Medicine.
- Education is provided to Neonatology fellows and to pediatric residents through the Phoenix Children’s graduate medical education programs.
- Participation in clinical research and quality improvement projects are the norm.
- A culture of collaboration exists between attending physicians, nurse practitioners, and trainees.
The staff physician shall provide patient care services and will support the Phoenix Children's mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families.
Position Duties- Patient Care Services
- Provide patient care services for which the physician is clinically privileged, including but not limited to direct patient care on inpatient and outpatient bases
- Provide subspecialty consultations and follow-up
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures
- Provide these services for urgent/emergent care as necessary
- Strive to achieve the best patient and family-centered care
- Support Hospital’s patient satisfaction goals as well as division’s specific targets
- Support and adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards
- Practices contemporary evidence-based medicine or latest experience-based medicine
- Divisional Responsibilities
- Establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives (e.g., individual, division, hospital)
- Support the medical education programs and activities of the Division, including but not limited to: direct supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals for inpatient and outpatient services when applicable
- Conduct teaching rounds, lectures and conferences for trainees
- Participate in teaching and supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals assigned to the division
- Participate in postgraduate continuing educational activities of the division
- Support the research endeavors of the division
- Support programmatic growth of the division; support satellite efforts when appropriate
- Professionalism

- Promote a safe, cooperative and professional health care environment

- Physician shall support the Division Chief as liaison to the professional community and general public as requested
- Physician may conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside of Phoenix Children s if these activities support divisional clinical and teaching programs
- Physician shall represent Phoenix Children s in the medical and business communities and before the public in a professional manner
