The staff physician shall provide patient care services and support Phoenix Children's mission of providing hope, healing and the best healthcare for children and their families.

Position Duties
  • Patient Care Services
    • Provide patient care services for which clinically privileged, including but not limited to:
      • direct patient care services on an inpatient and outpatient basis
      • subspecialty consultations and follow-up
      • diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures
      • urgent/emergent care as necessary
    • Strive to achieve best patient and family‑centered care
    • Support hospital’s patient satisfaction goals as well as division’s specific targets
    • Support and adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards
    • Practice contemporary evidence‑based medicine or latest experience‑based medicine
  • Divisional Responsibilities
    • Establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives (individual, division, hospital)
    • Support the medical education programs and activities of the Division, including but not limited to:
      • direct supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals for delivery of inpatient and outpatient services when applicable
      • conduct teaching rounds, lectures and conferences for trainees
      • participate in the teaching and supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals assigned to the division
      • participate in the postgraduate continuing educational activities of the division
    • Support the research endeavors of the division including the research initiatives by other members of the division
    • Support programmatic growth of division
    • Support satellite efforts of division when appropriate
  • Professionalism
    • Treat colleagues, Phoenix Children's employees and customers with courtesy, dignity and respect
    • Promote safe, cooperative and professional health care environment
    • Support Phoenix Children's mission, vision and values, including family‑centered care, excellence in clinical care, leadership, collaboration, and accountability
  • Other Activities
    • Physician shall support the Division Chief as liaison to the professional community and general public as requested
    • May conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside of Phoenix Children's, particularly if these activities support divisional clinical and teaching programs/initiatives
    • Represent Phoenix Children's in medical and business communities and before the general public in a professional manner
    • Physical and mental skills essential: communication by telephone, computer or other devices; after hours or night call responsibilities as needed; regular scheduled work hours
  • Perform miscellaneous job related duties as requested

Position Qualifications
  • Education
    • MD or DO degree (required)
  • Special Skills
    • Ability to move freely from/facility to facility and examine patients
    • Ability to communicate by telephone, computer or other communication devices (required)
    • Ability to perform after hours or night call responsibilities as needed (required)
    • Ability to work regularly scheduled work hours (required)
    • Ability to work well under pressure (required)
  • Additional Requirements
    • Current Arizona License to Practice Medicine or ability to obtain prior to start date (required)
