Shift: Mon-Fri, Sat, Sun, Days, Evenings, Nights, 8am-5pm;

The staff physician shall provide patient care services and support the Phoenix Children's mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families.
Position Responsibilities- Provide patient care services on inpatient and outpatient bases for which clinically privileged.
- Provide direct patient care and subspecialty consultations and follow-up.
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures and care for urgent/emergent situations as necessary.
- Strive for best patient- and family-centered care and support hospital patient satisfaction goals and division targets.
- Adhere to divisional patient safety and quality standards and practice contemporary evidence-based medicine.
- Establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives (individual, division, hospital).
- Divisional education and supervision
- Provide direct supervision of trainees and allied health professionals for inpatient and outpatient services where applicable.
- Conduct teaching rounds, lectures and conferences for trainees; participate in teaching and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals.
- Support postgraduate continuing education and research initiatives within the division; contribute to programmatic growth and satellite division activities where appropriate.

- Treat colleagues, Phoenix Children s employees and patients with courtesy, dignity and respect; promote a safe, cooperative clinical environment.
- Support Phoenix Children s mission, vision and values, including family-centered care, clinical excellence, leadership, collaboration and accountability.
- Other activities
- Assist Division Chief as liaison to the professional community and public as requested; may conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside of Phoenix Children s as needed to support divisional programs and initiatives; represent Phoenix Children s in medical and business communities.
- Communication and availability: maintain effective communication via telephone, computer or other devices; ability to meet after-hours call obligations and regular work hours.
- MD or DO degree.
- Current Arizona license to practice medicine or the ability to obtain prior to start date.
- Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty.
- Special skills: ability to move between facilities and examine patients; effective communication via telephone/computer; ability to work after hours as needed; ability to work under pressure.
- Physical requirements and occupational exposure/risk considerations as described (e.g., hearing, vision, lifting up to 35 pounds occasionally, etc.).
