Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Physician

Position Summary

The staff physician shall provide patient care services and will support the Phoenix Children's mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families.

Position Duties
  • Patient Care Services: provide patient care for which clinically privileged, including but not limited to direct patient care on inpatient and outpatient bases; subspecialty consultations and follow-up; diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures; and care for urgent/emergent situations.
  • Strive to achieve the best patient and family-centered care.
  • Support hospital patient satisfaction goals as well as the division's specific targets.
  • Support and adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards.
  • Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine or latest experience-based medicine.
  • Divisional Responsibilities: establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives; support the medical education programs and activities of the Division, including supervision of trainees and allied healthcare professionals, teaching rounds, lectures and conferences, and participation in postgraduate continuing education.
  • Support the research endeavors of the division and programmatic growth of the division; support satellite efforts as appropriate.
  • Professionalism: treat colleagues, Phoenix Children's employees and customers with courtesy, dignity and respect; promote a safe, cooperative and professional healthcare environment; support Phoenix Children's mission, vision and values, including family-centered care, clinical excellence, leadership, collaboration and accountability.
  • Other activities: liaise with Division Chief to engage with professional communities; conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside Phoenix Children's when aligned with divisional programs; represent Phoenix Children's professionally in medical and business communities and to the public.
  • Required skills and capabilities: communicate via telephone/computer, perform after-hours/night call as needed, and work regularly scheduled hours.

Qualifications

Education: MD or DO degree (Required/Board Certified or Board Eligible in the appropriate specialty).

Special Skills: ability to move between facilities, communicate via telephone/computer, perform after-hours/night call responsibilities, work regular hours, work well under pressure.

Additional Requirements: current Arizona medical license or ability to obtain prior to start date; board certification/eligibility in the appropriate specialty.
