HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL for SCHOOL YEAR
Xavier College Preparatory High School, in collaboration with the Diocese of Phoenix and the Catholic Schools Office, is seeking a dedicated, capable, and highly qualified Principal with strong intellectual and leadership skills and a commitment to Catholic education for the school year.
Founded in 1943, Xavier College Preparatory is a diocesan Roman Catholic high school that strives to prepare young women of faith with the knowledge, skills, and integrity to meet the challenges of a changing global society. From the beginning, the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) and their charism have been integral to Xavier’s identity and mission. Grounded in the BVM core values of freedom, education, charity, and justice, Xavier forms students in a faith-filled community marked by tradition and unity—nurtured through an active sacramental life that invites students into prayer and spiritual growth.
Alongside the school’s Catholic identity, Xavier is committed to academic excellence through distinctive opportunities such as Advanced Placement courses and dual enrollment—while also offering a full, formative high-school experience with thriving athletics, performing arts, clubs, and a service culture deeply woven into student life.
Qualifications- Active, practicing Catholic, faithful to the Church’s magisterium.
- Successful professional experience in school administration.
- Master’s degree in educational administration or a related field.
- Certification (or eligibility for certification) as a principal by the State of Arizona.
- Strong spiritual and educational leader with excellent communication skills.
- Preferred:
Demonstrated success fostering academic excellence, student formation, and school culture in a single-gender (all-girls) learning community. - Dedication to - and ability to build morale around - the philosophy and mission of the school.
- Understanding of the evolving opportunities and challenges of 21st-century education, including a focus on Catholic identity, academics, curriculum and instruction, differentiated learning programs, and instructional technology.
- Effective communication with a variety of constituency groups including students, teachers and staff, parents, alumnae, community supporters, local pastors, elementary school principals, and the public.
- Commitment to assisting students in the pursuit of academic excellence, strong moral formation, and intentional discipleship.
- Collaborative leadership style, working effectively with the school President and other administrators.
- Knowledge of and respect for the history and traditions of the school.
- Humility, dignity, integrity, and professionalism.
