The Job Coach works directly with students with special needs at various job sites and provides on the job training and feedback; also works closely with employers at various community/job sites. May require lifting and/or restraints.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in the implementation of the Windham Public Schools Board of Education and administrative policies, rules, regulations and directives
- Follow Windham Public school policy to ensure student safety
- Follow teacher's oral or written directions with accuracy
- Assist the teacher with documentation of student progress
- Encourage students to interact appropriately with peers
- Assist students during recess, breaks, emergency drills, assemblies, on school buses and field trips
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information
- Experience working with young children
- Ability to implement behavioral goals
- Ability to understand child development
- Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Effective, active listening skills
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Organizational and problem solving skills
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Bachelor's Degree
- Successful experience in the position
- Two (2) years of experience working with children or young adults in a school setting, preferred
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred, not required
Salary:
In accordance with WFEP Bargaining Unit. Range: $22.52/hr - 28.30/hr
