Decima International is a professional services company, providing project management and controls services to clients in the United States and the Middle East. Our mission is to become the premier professional services provider across all industry sectors we are engaged in. To accomplish this, Decima International’s founders established a simple yet powerful formula: approach each client engagement as a partnership, create an environment that attracts the most talented professionals, and allow them to flourish, and regulate growth to maintain excellence in our service standards.

We are looking for a driven and capable Energy Marshal to support us with the development and commissioning of a major hyperscale data center project for one of the top technology clients in the world. This is a client‑facing role that requires strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, the ability to self‑direct, client representation, and an emphasis on rigorous electrical safety management within a complex construction environment.

A strong background in electrical systems, data center commissioning, and energy safety protocols is required.

You will play an integral role in ensuring electrical safety and energy isolation compliance throughout the construction and commissioning phases of the project. You will have a critical role in identifying electrical hazards, managing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and ensuring adherence to national and international electrical safety regulations. You will work collaboratively with commissioning teams, construction professionals, and safety specialists to establish safe work practices, verify proper equipment isolation, and maintain the highest standards of compliance and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee and assure the implementation of the project's Energy Isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs, ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other regulatory standards.
  • Review, coordinate, and approve complex LOTO permits and isolation procedures for construction, commissioning, and operational activities.
  • Serve as the independent authority to stop any unsafe work practices regarding energy isolation.
  • Conduct daily walk-downs of energized and de-energized areas to identify live circuits, exposed conductors, grounding issues, or potential hazards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of energy isolation practices on site.
  • Work closely with the General Contractor, subcontractors, commissioning teams, and client representatives to manage and coordinate all energy-related activities, including electrical shutdowns, power-ups, and re-energization efforts.
  • Participate in High-Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings related to energy isolation.
  • Establish and manage a centralized LOTO process with all site entities.
  • Lead the investigation of electrical incidents, near-misses, or unsafe conditions; review root cause analyses and approve preventive and corrective actions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all energy isolation incident investigations and near-miss reporting.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
DOCUMENTATION & TRAINING
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, such as Statements of Work (SoWs), Method of Procedures (MOPs), and scripts, are reviewed, and all sources of energy are identified.
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records of LOTO permits, electrical safety inspections, and incident documentation.
  • Provide ongoing training and guidance to site personnel on LOTO procedures and electrical safety practices.
  • Verify the qualifications, training, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) of personnel performing energized work.
  • Ensure all electrical commissioning and site operations comply with local, state, federal, and international electrical safety regulations and company standards.
  • Manage and audit the execution of LOTO procedures to ensure full compliance with OSHA standards and internal safety requirements.
