Laboratory Technician responsible for materials testing and quality control for transportation construction projects. Work under the supervision of a lab supervisor and may be involved in engineering construction inspections, sampling, and testing of materials like concrete, asphalt, and steel. Additionally, may maintain equipment, facilities, and records related to materials testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Testing and Inspection:
  Conduct tests on construction materials like concrete, asphalt, aggregates, soils, according to ASTM, AASHTO, and ADOT methods.
• Material Sampling:
  Collect samples of materials for testing from various locations.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  Ensure proper functioning and calibration of testing equipment.
• Record Keeping:
  Maintain accurate records of testing results and relevant data.
• Quality Control:
  Assist with quality control procedures to ensure materials meet project specifications.
• Communication:
  Communicate with supervisors and personnel regarding testing results and issues.
• Safety Compliance:
  Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.

Certifications Required:

• ACI Strength
• ATTI asphalt and aggregates
