As a Piping/Plumbing Engineer I in our Phoenix office for Summer 2026
, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions and create a greener future.
AEI collaborates across healthcare, science, technology, energy, education, and other vital sectors, delivering innovative engineering solutions and fostering a collaborative environment where you can grow your expertise and contribute to meaningful projects.
Responsibilities- Work with and be mentored by experienced engineers; as you gain experience, help mentor designers.
- Perform load calculations, determine system sizing and layouts, calculate equipment sizes, select equipment, complete field surveys, and review equipment shop drawings.
- As you gain project experience, take on lead responsibilities for piping/plumbing project teams, write specifications, participate in project meetings with clients and other consultants, and support construction-phase work.
- BSME/BSAE from ABET-accredited school.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Non-academic internship; internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.
- Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities/student organizations preferred.
- EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
- Strong internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.
- Strong spoken and written communications skills.
- Excellent organization and time management.
- Quick technical comprehension with a focus on client outcomes.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work well both independently and in teams.
