Responsibilities Design and Engineering- Perform structural analysis, design, and calculations for steel and concrete structures in accordance with governing codes and standards.
- Prepare engineering reports, design summaries, and technical documentation.
- Produce design sketches and markups for integration by 3D modelers and drafters.
- Review, sign off, and stamp drawings issued for construction.
- Research and evaluate design options through trade‑off studies and optimization.
- Provide input into Engineering Design Criteria and project specifications.
- Manage multiple design assignments concurrently while maintaining quality and schedule.
- Integrate vendor and supplier data into the structural design process.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, design teams, and external consultants to ensure technical alignment.
- Conduct site investigations, field inspections, and structural assessments as required.
- Manage schedule, cost, and scope for assigned design packages.
- Provide discipline‑specific input into the change management process.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards — industry, client, and DRA best practices.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure design deliverables meet project objectives and specifications.
- Maintain clear and professional written and verbal communication at all times.
- Keep the CSA team informed of technical design progress, risks, and changes.
- Share design lessons learned and promote continuous improvement.
- Takes ownership and accountability for technical deliverables.

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration or eligibility to obtain.
- 5–8 years of experience in structural design and analysis, preferably within an EPCM or mining project environment.
- Strong proficiency in static and dynamic structural analysis using software such as SAP
2000
, STAAD.Pro
, or Autodesk Robot
. - Working knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent CAD tools.
- Solid understanding of U.S. design codes
, including concrete and steel design (hot‑rolled and cold‑formed). - Experience with dynamic design and vibration analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary environment.
While performing duties of this job, you may be required to stand, sit in a stationary position 50% of the time, alternate between sitting and standing, push/pull as necessary, reach overhead or below shoulder level, kneel, squat, or stoop.
May be required on occasion to lift and carry items such as files, documents, or small packages, typically up to 10–20 pounds.
Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, analyzing data, and working on a computer.
