Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you’ll engage in virtual collaboration as well as attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix or at one of our site locations.

Description
Under general supervision, the Senior Mine Engineer – Strategic Planning UG leads and contributes to high-impact mining engineering initiatives, with a primary focus on feasibility studies, capital project development, and safety audits. This role is instrumental in shaping the long-term strategic vision of mining operations through advanced technical analysis, effective project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Lead and manage mine-related projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timelines, and budgets
  • Conduct and contribute to technical and economic feasibility studies for new and existing mining operations.
  • Participate in and lead mine safety audits, ensuring compliance with internal and external safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on mine planning, engineering design, and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geology, metallurgy, environmental, and finance to support project development.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer across the engineering team.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining or Geological Engineering and five (5) years of related experience in engineering or a related field, OR
  • Master’s degree in Mining or Geological Engineering and three (3) years of related experience
  • Hands-on experience within the last five (5) years in at least two of the following: mine planning, project management, feasibility analysis, geomechanical control, or engineering supervision
  • Strong knowledge of mine engineering principles and project management methodologies
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and deliver results
  • Skilled in conducting feasibility studies and technical evaluations
  • Strong understanding of mine safety standards and audit processes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in mine planning and engineering software

What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $101,000-$141,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
