The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in large-scale Hadoop cluster management
• Ability to balance and tune cluster nodes for performance
• Excellent Linux administration skills and understanding of system performance areas (memory, swap, disk I/O, network I/O, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience tuning large application systems, including benchmarking and stress testing under high simulated traffic conditions
• Hive and HBase familiarity
• Excellent understanding of hardware and software mirroring
• Understanding of line and rack-level I/O tuning
• Experience with tools like IOzone
• Thorough understanding of satellite, spacewalk, jumpstarts, and kickstart profiling
• Understanding of JVM administration and crash trace analysis
• Proper understanding of NFS setup and block optimization
• Knowledge of frame set and communication protocols between multiple Ethernet connections
• Understanding of RAID and its setup
• Understanding of various Java options related to Hadoop
• Understanding of Zoo Keeper and zkdump
• Nagios configuration and automation
• PHP knowledge for Ganglia context customization
• Understanding of FIFO, Fair Scheduler, and Capacity Scheduler and their usage
• Understanding of ACLs on the Hadoop side
• Understanding of how to use LVM on MapRFS
• Thorough understanding of RPC and communication protocols between nodes on TT and JT daemons
• Fair knowledge of Google's Protobuf
• Fair understanding of HBase and CMS GC collector
