Your Opportunity

The Grid Integration Specialist (Integration Specialist) will act as a subject matter expert within the Policy & Regulatory team in delivering market research, regulatory knowledge and advising, and a comprehensive understanding of North American interconnection requirements and grid integration processes to support the Policy & Regulatory and Management & Technology Consulting (MTC) teams’ energy clients. The Specialist will focus on Independent Power Producers, large load customers, utilities, public utility commissions and regulatory authorities, FERC, and industrial market and energy research.

The Specialist is responsible for executing the delivery of client interconnection applications through initial project scoping, application preparation, interface and management of interconnection deliverables, regulatory strategy, and portfolio strategy. The Specialist will undertake continuous policy, regulatory and energy market research to stay apprised of developments in the North American energy, water, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Practice Leader, Policy & Regulatory and MTC team to implement the strategic direction and impact of the Policy & Regulatory group across markets.
  • Refine and deliver Policy & Regulatory’s project portfolio and value propositions in accordance with changing policy and regulatory landscapes across North America.
  • Support proposal development and pursuit of client opportunities requiring premium-rate advisory consulting services with exceptional value delivery.
  • Deliver a consistent high-value, premium client experience from initial bid through project closeout.
  • Support the integration of Policy & Regulatory value propositions into other pillars of the MTC team, and vice versa.
  • Lead the execution of project work or act as a subject matter expert in: grid interconnection advisory services, interpretation and guidance on Large Generator and Load Interconnection Procedures across US utilities and Canadian interconnection procedures.
  • Support client advisory for large load feasibility studies and grid integration support.
  • Provide policy interpretation and regulatory guidance to contribute to program and framework development for utility, industrial and water sector clients.
  • Advise on regulatory decisions and interpretation of technologies, market rules, and project development optionality for energy clients.
  • Conduct benchmarking and research-based advisory services using public utility commission or regulator databases.
  • Support Policy & Regulatory expansion strategy within the MTC business across energy, water, and industrial sectors, engaging with stakeholders.
  • Develop Market research for expansion in energy, water, and industrial sectors and support business development activities to drive growth.
  • Remain informed on industry policy and regulatory developments across target markets to align offerings with current and future market needs.
  • Collaborate with Sector Leader to develop Policy & Regulatory business strategy and growth KPIs.
  • Support pursuit of Policy & Regulatory business opportunities across new market segments, including utility interconnection project management and North American policy advising.
  • Contribute to and lead components of Policy & Regulatory projects, ensuring reporting and adherence to project delivery protocols.
  • Act as account manager or account team member for assigned key accounts, supporting account growth plans and cross-selling.
  • Work with marketing support to contribute to campaigns for the Policy & Regulatory and MTC lines.
  • Represent the group at industry conferences and external events as an ambassador.
Your Capabilities & Credentials
  • Direct experience facilitating and driving utility interconnection projects from utility or interconnection customer perspectives.
  • Proficient experience in policy and regulatory analysis and assessing policy drivers and impacts on project development across energy and industrial sectors.
  • Understanding of electrical utility operations and energy-intensive sectors (e.g., natural gas, heavy industrial, or water).
