Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Okland, we exist to create remarkable experiences — not just through the projects we deliver, but in the way we show up for our clients, partners, and each other every day. We believe that how we build is just as important as what we build, and our purpose is rooted in people. Whether it's a trusted partner we’ve worked with for decades or a new team member stepping onto their first jobsite, we approach every relationship with care, clarity, and commitment.

We’re a commercial general contractor and construction management company with more than 1,200 team members and a track record of delivering some of the most complex and high‑profile projects in the country — from semiconductor and healthcare facilities to professional sports venues and high‑end hospitality. Founded in 1918 in Salt Lake City, we’ve grown steadily for over a century — now with offices in Utah, Arizona, and Idaho — and we’re entering one of the most exciting chapters in our company’s history.

We’re building more than projects. We’re building careers, capabilities, and momentum for the future, and we’re looking for passionate, driven people who want to be part of it.

If you are passionate about creating safe environments and leading teams to achieve zero‑incident goals, we want to talk to you. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of safety across our construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. You will thrive if you bring strong leadership, a proactive mindset, and the ability to influence safety culture at every level of the organization.

This role also requires expertise in Advanced Manufacturing Construction environments, including semiconductor fabrication facilities, cleanroom protocols, and integration of specialized safety standards for high‑tech projects.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal standards.
  • Investigate incidents and near‑misses, providing root‑cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Design and deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to implement safety measures specific to advanced manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with cleanroom standards, contamination control protocols, and specialized PPE requirements.
  • Develop risk assessments and emergency response plans tailored to high‑tech environments such as semiconductor and precision manufacturing projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in construction safety, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • In‑depth knowledge of OSHA standards, risk management principles, and safety program development.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills; ability to influence at all levels.
  • CSP, CHST, or similar certification preferred.
  • Experience managing safety programs for semiconductor or advanced manufacturing construction projects.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom environments, contamination control protocols, and specialized PPE requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate with technical teams to integrate safety standards into complex mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of industry‑specific regulations and best practices for high‑tech manufacturing facilities.
