We’re seeking a Sales Application Engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience for a high-visibility role that blends technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities. This position requires strong mechanical engineering knowledge—especially in thermal and fluid sciences—and offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects from concept through delivery.
Role OverviewYou will serve as the single point of contact for customers, from gathering requirements to developing designs, generating proposals, and managing orders through in-house fabrication. This role requires balancing performance, cost, and design trade-offs while working closely with design, manufacturing, and materials teams.
Key Responsibilities- Manage relationships with existing and new customers, providing designs, quotations, and ongoing support.
- Develop new business by understanding client needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Oversee designs from concept to delivery, coordinating with Solid Works designers, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
- Collaborate with the Sales & Engineering team to share workload and expertise.
- Travel 6–8 times per year (1–3 days per trip).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years or more of professional experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or a similar industry with an emphasis in the industrial vertical.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and passionate about engineering, sales, and building relationships.
- Experience in a small or mid-sized company environment.
- Skills in Project management background.
- ASME Code Design, Experience using HTRI.
- Air Coolers / Air Cooled Heat Changers.
- Familiarity with heat exchangers.
- Ability to be able to work in the Industrial vertical of the company is highly desire.
- Heat Exchanger Design & Analysis (Air-Cooled, Shell & Tube, Brazed Aluminum, Cold Box).
- ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1, TEMA, API, ANSI, ASTM, CSA, B31.3 piping codes & standards.
- Proposal Engineering (bid tabulations, datasheets, technical justifications, cost estimation).
- Customer-Facing Communication (requirements gathering, technical presentations, solution selling).
- Supporting Commissioning, Startup & Client Handoffs.
- Vendor Coordination & Technical Reviews (design calcs, drawings, NCR/RCA resolution).
- Onsite Supplier Audits, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), P&.
- Interdisciplinary Project Coordination (mechanical, piping, controls, and construction teams).
- Lean Six Sigma & Root Cause Analysis for process improvements and cost savings.
- Cross-Functional Team Leadership & Training.
- Strong Technical Writing & Documentation (specs, proposals, reports).
- Effective Communicator – bridging technical details with customer needs.
