Summary

Steam Turbine Engineer - Power Generation Systems

As a Steam Turbine Engineer, you’ll serve as a technical leader of our fleet, providing expertise in steam turbines, turbine valves, and associated systems. This role blends advanced mechanical engineering with hands-on plant support, ensuring our steam turbines are maintained, upgraded, and operated to the highest standards of reliability and efficiency.

You’ll partner closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to scope outages, troubleshoot emergent issues, and implement improvements. Whether it’s analyzing performance data, designing solutions for complex challenges, or guiding long-range planning, your work will directly impact the reliability of our power generation systems and the sustainability of our energy future.

What You’ll Do
  • Outage Planning & Execution:
    Accurately scope, plan, and support steam turbine outages, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective work.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Serve as a subject-matter expert for steam turbines, turbine valves, and supporting systems, providing solutions for emergent and long-term needs.
  • Engineering Analysis:
    Apply mechanical engineering principles and performance analytics to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Tackle complex turbine-related challenges with data-driven, practical, and innovative solutions.
  • Collaboration:

    Work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Planning, and Supply Chain to align turbine strategies with organizational goals.
  • Mentorship:
    Support and guide junior engineers, sharing expertise and fostering technical excellence across the team.
  • Innovation:
    Develop and implement new approaches to enhance reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance of turbine systems.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven expertise in steam turbines, valves, and associated systems, ideally within power generation or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and turbine outage planning.
  • Experience analyzing operational or performance data to drive informed engineering decisions.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in cross-functional, collaborative environments.
  • Problem-solving mindset, with a track record of delivering innovative and practical engineering solutions.
  • Commitment to safety, reliability, and advancing sustainable energy practices.
Minimum Requirements
  • A four-year bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline from an ABET accredited institution, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution or an ABET Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) institution.
  • Five (5) years working experience in Engineering-related positions for Steam Turbine Engineer III, or Eight (8) years for Steam Turbine Engineer Senior.
